Overview
SOS Anywhere is the first personal and medical alert wristband that works globally. The company launched in 2019 to offer an emergency alert solution to people who are always on the move – whether that be your globetrotting daughter or your adventurous grandfather. Once the emergency alert button is pressed, the user’s emergency contacts are notified of the persons GPS location and elevation. The user can select an optional emergency medical service to be notified of their location for immediate arrival.
The SOS Anywhere wristband has been featured on numerous news channels and websites due to the innovative feature of global access, since even mobile alert systems only work within the continental US.
Features and Functionality
Monitoring
The SOS anywhere has built-in, constant GPS monitoring in over 213 countries. As long as you are wearing the band, your GPS location and elevation is being tracked. It is only shared with your emergency contacts, however, when you press the emergency alert button on the wristband.
Some emergency alert systems are linked to your phone, but with the SOS Anywhere, you don’t need to have your phone nearby for it to work. The GPS monitoring system is integrated into the wristband.
Since the device doesn’t need to be charged, as long as you are wearing the band, the user’s location is being passively monitored.
Alerts
When the user receives their device, they will also receive easy instructions on how to create their online account and add their emergency contacts.
Rather than having a call center where the alerts are received, pressing the emergency alert button will alert the contacts you have inputted into your online account. You can choose to include an emergency medical service among those that receive your alert, who will then arrive at the user’s location without the need for chat or phone. This feature is not available in all countries, however.
The SOS Anywhere has a one-way alert system, meaning that, when the emergency button is pressed, it alerts your contacts via phone and email, but they cannot contact you. The one-way alert system allows for a discrete alert system in case the user finds themselves in a situation where it is unsafe to speak to someone.
Ease of Use
The wristband is very easy to use. The wristband only has one button, and when it is pressed, you contacts are notified.
To input contact information, you will sign up for an account in two easy steps, either online or through the SOS Anywhere app (iOS and Android). Here, you can add your emergency contact information, including name, email, and phone number. You can update the contact information anytime.
Customer support
Customer support is available via live chat and email at the moment. There is currently no phone support. There is neither an FAQ page nor a blog. We suspect this may change in the future, however, as currently, the device is only available for presale.

Final Word
Most medical alert systems are aimed at supporting older adults who live unassisted and normally remain close to their home. The SOS Anywhere is different. It is the only medical and emergency alert device that has global GPS coverage and a discrete alert system. This makes it apt for people of all ages who may need to notify emergency contacts, including globetrotters and adolescents.
